Spotty storms this afternoon; Mild weekend
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Spotty showers and stray thunderstorms will be possible Friday afternoon and evening.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop in the mid-afternoon and early evening hours on Friday. Storms will stay stray and spotty in coverage across SE MN and NE IA. Most of the wet weather will stay in SE MN. A lot of NE IA will probably stay stray.
Tonight is the first Sports Extra, and there could be some wet weather impacting some football games. Most of the rain should clear out of the region by 6-7 p.m. on Friday. A couple of spotty showers could continue until 7-8 p.m.
High temperatures this weekend at the Minnesota State Fair will be in the upper 70s and low 80s. Sunny skies are expected both Saturday and Sunday. We should stay rain-free at the fair this weekend.
Your travel forecast is looking pretty good for the holiday weekend. Highs across the upper Midwest will be nearly seasonal averages. Some locations will see stray to isolated showers on Sunday and Monday. Most of the rain should stay along and south of I-80.
High temperatures this weekend will be near seasonal averages in the mid-70s. Fog will be possible on Saturday morning with partly sunny skies in the afternoon. Mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-70s are expected on Sunday.
A big cooldown is likely next week, with highs falling into the 60s by Wednesday.
