Officials say this is a prefect way to welcome the much wanted winter storm. ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – People in St. Albans kicked off the weekend with a little snowy celebration. Hardack will also be open on Sunday to those that want to take advantage of the storm St. Albans recreation department held their 14th annual Winter Carnival. About 500 people from surrounding areas go to Hardack Hill and enjoy some winter activities. “It seems like every year before the year the night before we get a dusting. So it looks white but we don’t have enough to run. In fact our metals last year said dare to go with no snow for or duck tape derby. We have been able to have fun, but not the same kind of fun we are able to have this year,” said Kelly Viens of St. Albans recreation.
