Lake Charles, LA – April 3, 2025 – St. Louis Catholic High School is excited to announce the hiring of Chris Truax as the new Head Football Coach.
With 25 years of coaching experience at both the college and high school levels, Coach Truax brings a wealth of knowledge and a winning track record to the St. Louis community. Coach Truax’s career includes time spent on three college coaching staffs, most notably at Stephen F. Austin, Northwestern State, and McNeese State University, where he contributed to five conference championships. His vast experience and passion for football are complemented by his strong leadership qualities, making him an ideal fit to lead the St. Louis Catholic football program into the future.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Truax to our St. Louis Catholic family,” said Pat Neck, Athletic Director of St. Louis Catholic High School. “His experience, dedication, and passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field will have a profound impact on our school community. We believe that under his leadership, our football program will continue to grow and thrive.”
Coach Truax has spent his career developing players and helping them achieve success both athletically and academically. He has built a reputation for his focus on discipline, character, and teamwork, which are part of his core values. Coach Truax has been married to his wife, Michelle, for 31 years, and they have three children: the late Harold Christopher, Lexie, and Tatum. His family’s support has been a cornerstone of his career, and he is excited to have them by his side as he begins this new chapter.
To welcome Coach Truax to the St. Louis Catholic family, a meet-and-greet event will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Pavilion at St. Louis Catholic High School. This is an open event for all members of the community to come and meet Coach Truax, hear from him directly, and learn more about his vision for the future of the football program. Everyone is welcome to attend and be part of this exciting new chapter for St. Louis Catholic athletics.
