Illinois is Wisconsin’s second-most played opponent in program history, with the two teams competing against each other over 200 times since 1906. Illinois leads the all-time series, 117-90, as well as in games played at Champaign, 70-28. UW’s last road win in Champaign came on January 23, 2019.

The last time these two teams faced off was in the 2024 Big Ten Tournament Championship Game, which Illinois came out on top in, 93-87. Klesmit scored 16 points in the game, while Steven Crowl put up 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
