Nationally-ranked SUNY Geneseo leads after day one of the 2025 Empire 8 Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship from Bob Boozer Field at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium on the Campus of SUNY Brockport will serve on Friday, May 2. Geneseo has 122 points, while host SUNY Brockport is second with 64.5 points after eight of the 22 scored events.
The Knights won five events on Friday. Ann Brennan began the meet by taking the 3,000-meter steeplechase, hitting the line in a championship record time of 10:52.11. Brynn Mooney, the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Champion in the 400-meters, won the E8 outdoor title in the event with a time of 55.21 seconds. Penelope Greene won the 5,000-meter run in a time of 38:13.69.
Zoe Connor of Geneseo annexed the hammer throw with a toss of 51.48 meters, while Jilliam Ambler took the long jump with an impressive leap of 5.90 meters, second best-ever in an E8 Championship meet.
Nazareth’s Kiara Tornusciolo won the pole vault, clearing 3.60 meters. She becomes the fourth different Nazareth student-athlete to win the pole vault in the last four seasons.
St. John Fisher’s Veronica Duell won the E8 long jump championship with a leap of 5.68 meters, which is currently tied for 19th in Division III to date this season.
SUNY Brockport’s 4 x 800-meter relay team of Mia Vizcaino, Ethne Degan, Jaylah Cossin, Vanessa Ramos earned the victory in a time of 9.23.28.
Rebecca Hueler of Brockport won the javelin throw, firing it 39.12 meters.
Lauren Bendall of Nazareth University leads the heptathlon with 2,293 points with four of the seven events completed.
Day two action gets underway from SUNY Brockport at 10 a.m.
