APOLACON TWP. — A Swoyersville council member is facing charges alleging he damaged a cabin in Susquehanna County earlier this year.

Pennsylvania State Police at Gibson charged Adam Christian, 49, a retired police officer in Swoyersville, with five counts of criminal mischief and a single count of criminal trespass. The charges were filed Friday against Christian.

According to a news release, surveillance cameras at the cabin recorded Christian spray painting a rainbow with a homophobic message, used a hammer to smash windows and door locks, filled door locks with an epoxy to disable from normal use, and damaged stairs and a chimney pipe on April 23.

The cabin belongs to a hunting club that voted Christian out of the club and banned him from the property, the news release says.
