CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina baseball, fresh off an ACC regular season title and a trip to Omaha in 2024, checked in at No. 6 in the 2025 D1Baseball Preseason Top 25 poll on Monday morning.
UNC is the second highest ranked of the seven ACC teams on the list, joined in the top-10 by Virginia (#2) and Florida State (#9). The No. 6 designation is tied for the highest Carolina has had to start a season since D1Baseball began their rankings in 2015. They debuted at six in 2015 and 2018.
Head coach Scott Forbes‘ squad will play 12 games against teams appearing in the initial poll with Florida State, No. 11 Duke, No. 13 NC State, and No. 14 Wake Forest on the schedule. The Tar Heels will face the Blue Devils, Wolfpack, and Demon Deacons at home.
The season begins for the Diamond Heels on Feb. 14 at home in Boshamer Stadium with a weekend series against Texas Tech. Season tickets for the 2025 season are still on sale.
