FORT WORTH – The No.3 TCU equestrian team took down South Dakota State 16-4 on Thursday, Jan. 30 at the John Justin Arena.
The Frogs earned all four of the Most Outstanding Performers awards. Lilly Goldstein, Laurel Smith, Shea Graham, and Payton Boutelle earned the MOP in the Fences, Flat, Reining, and Horsemanship respectively.FENCES
The competition began with fences, where TCU set the tone with a 4-1 win. Jordyn Scelsa earned the first point for the Frogs with a 79 on Billy. Ella Bostwick followed with an 84. Ashleigh Scully added another point with an 80 and Lilly Goldstein closed out the event with an 85 on Electric, earning MOP honors.UP NEXT
The Horned Frogs will travel to Stillwater, Okla. to face the Cowgirls on Feb. 21, at 1 pm. TCU is 1-0 against the Cowgirls this season with the last matchup coming on Oct. 3 at KSM Bear Creek Farms where the Frogs were victorious 11-9.HORSEMANSHIP
The meet wrapped up with horsemanship, where TCU earned another 4-1 win. Shea Graham earned the first point of the event with a 75.5. Payton Boutelle claimed the MOP honors with an impressive 76 on Hector. Elizabeth West outrode her opponent 74.5-63.5 to earn her point on Champ. Jessica McAllister finished the event strong with a 70.5 on Flash.FLAT
The flat followed securing another 4-1 victory. Goldstein picked up her second point of the day with a score of 82. Lex Lipacis followed with a 79 on Gipsy King. Laurel Smith rode Katie to an 82, earning the event MOP. Bostwick marked an 83 on Dover to claim the fourth point for TCU.REINING
The western events began with the reining where the Frogs took down the Jackrabbits 4-1. Kylie Baker secured her point with a 70 on Roxie, followed by Shea Graham, the event’s MOP, who scored a 70.5 on Alfie. Jessica McAllister secured her point with a 67.5. Lannie-Jo Lisac added another point for the Frogs with her 69.5 ride.FOLLOW THE FROGS
