LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Michigan Tech volleyball team received the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT for 2024-25, earning the honor for the 13th straight season. Tech held a 3.55 team grade-point average.

Eight Huskies were named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team while four others were on the GLIAC All-Academic Team. Paige Wagner maintains a 4.0 while Meg Raabe and Riley Stichter each had a 4.0 semester.

A record-breaking 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award.

“It is very exciting to see that the record-setting, on-court successes during the 2024-25 season have extended to the classroom,” says AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. “The fact that more programs earned the Team Academic Award than ever before is evidence of how committed our coaches are when it comes to helping their players reach their goals as both students and athletes.”

The Huskies advanced to the GLIAC semifinal for the eighth consecutive time last season, with a 10-7 GLIAC record and a fifth-place finish in the conference. Tech finished the 2024 season with a 17-12 overall record.

Tess Hayes and Meg Raabe were named to the All-GLIAC First Team, Paige Wagner and Rachel Zurek were honored on the All-GLIAC Second Team, and Kaycee Meiners was an Honorable Mention selection. Kaycee Meiners and Meg Raabe were named to the 2024 Academic All-District Volleyball Team for their combined performances on the court in and in the classroom.
