But Nuno remains calm about the situation, saying in his post-match press conference: “While the window is open, it is open. Anything can happen. But I will reinforce what I have been saying, not only to you (the media) but also to the club. More than anything our priority was to keep the players.Forest were boosted by the return of midfield duo Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare from injury, with Danilo starting the game and Sangare coming off the bench, with both having been absent since August. And the Forest head coach reiterated his belief that the main priority during January was always to keep the core of the squad — which has climbed into third place in the Premier League table — together.Nuno continues to believe that unity and togetherness will be two of Forest’s biggest assets as they look to secure Champions League qualification.“If it is something really special, if it is a piece; a player that we really need and it is possible — fantastic. Because we are not perfect and if somebody can help us… but that has to be somebody really special.”Nuno Espirito Santo says Nottingham Forest will only make a new addition before the window closes on Monday, if they can sign somebody ‘really special’. Forest have been keen to sign another forward to provide competition and cover for Chris Wood — who scored a hat-trick in Forest’s thumping 7-0 win over Brighton — and Taiwo Awoniyi.“It is important to get them back into the squad because we have been missing them. We have good options in midfield. I am confident that they can help us,” said Nuno, who did see Murillo limp off with an injury in the final stages. “Murillo went off with a dead leg. But we think he is going to be okay. We will assess him.”They had a bid of £22m for Yoane Wissa rejected by Brentford and it remains to be seen if they will return with an improved offer before the window closes.
