The Hamilton College tennis teams and two women’s players were in the final Division III men’s and women’s collegiate tennis rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Wednesday, June 4.

The Hamilton women ended up at No. 52 in the national team rankings. Hannah Apsey ’25 (Allendale, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional HS) was 55th in the national singles rankings, and Apsey and Stephanie Pratt ’25 (Beverly, Mass./Manchester Essex Regional HS) were 36th in the national doubles rankings.

Apsey was an all-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) first team selection for singles. She played all 18 of her dual matches at No. 1 singles and her overall singles record this season was 12-11, including fall tournaments. Apsey finished her Hamilton career tied for eighth place on the team’s all-time list with 41 singles wins.

Apsey and Pratt made the all-NESCAC second team for doubles. They played all 17 of their dual matches at No. 1 doubles and their overall record this season was 15-9, including fall tournaments. Apsey and Pratt were 30-18 as a pairing for their career. Apsey’s 54 career doubles victories put her in second place on the team’s all-time list, and Pratt was sixth with 43.

The Continentals ended the season with a 7-11 record that included a 5-2 win against then-nationally ranked No. 37 Bates College on April 6. Hamilton played in the NESCAC championship quarterfinals for the third straight year. All 11 conference schools were ranked in the top 63 in Division III.

The Hamilton men wrapped up the season at No. 27 in the national team rankings. Head Coach Peter Arsenault was selected the 2025 ITA Division III Men’s Coach of the Year for the Northeast Region in May after he guided the Continentals to one of their best seasons in program history as they finished with a record of 16-5. Hamilton was ranked as high as 21st and defeated two top 10 teams in April. The 16 wins were the most since 1993-94 when the Continentals went 16-7.

Connor Griff ’25 reached the finals of the singles draw and did the same in the doubles draw with Antonio Chavez ’28 at the 2024 ITA Northeast Regional Championships. Griff and Chavez were victorious in the first round and advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024 ITA Cup. Griff and Chavez, who will earn all-America honors for their win in the first round, were the first Hamilton tennis players that ever competed at the ITA Cup.
