Texas Longhorns volleyball still No. 2
The Longhorns (16-0, 8-0) are still second only to Nebraska in Monday’s poll after picking up 1,467 points and three first-place votes. The top-ranked Cornhuskers (16-0, 8-0 Big Ten) received 58 first-place votes and have 1,522 points from the AVCA voters. Kentucky remains No. 3 with 1,395 points.
Nebraska and Texas are the only Division I teams in the nation that have yet to lose a match.
Texas swept Arkansas on Friday and followed with a 3-1 win Sunday against rival Oklahoma. Setter Ella Swindle doled out 41 assists in the win over the Sooners, with the outside hitter trio of Torrey Stafford (17 kills), Abby Vander Wal (15) and Cari Spears (13) spearheading the attack.
The Longhorns travel to Ole Miss for a 7 p.m. match Friday.
