Thad Moffitt Returns to Nitro Motorsports for General Tire 100 at Watkins Glen

“Moffitt ready to tackle New York road course”

August 6, 2025 – Thad Moffitt is set to make his return to ARCA Menards Series competition with Nitro Motorsports at the upcoming General Tire 100 at The Glen, held at the iconic Watkins Glen International on Friday, August 8. After being sidelined for several events due to budgetary setbacks, Moffitt, the grandson of racing legend Richard Petty, is ready to get back behind the wheel on the 2.45-mile road course in Upstate New York. 

“I’m excited to be back racing with Nitro Motorsports and thankful for the opportunity to compete again in the ARCA Menards Series,” expressed Moffitt. “It’s tough sitting out races, but I’ve stayed focused and prepared, and I’m ready to go to work at Watkins Glen. A huge thank you to Nitro Motorsports for the opportunity, but also huge congratulations to the entire team for the success in their rookie season.”

Nitro Motorsports continues to turn heads in its debut ARCA season, racing in collaboration with powerhouse Venturini Motorsports. The team has already captured victories, podiums, and multiple top-ten finishes with a variety of drivers, showcasing depth, development, and competitiveness throughout the year.

The General Tire 100 at The Glen is one of the most anticipated road course events of the ARCA Menards Series calendar and is expected to deliver an action-packed afternoon of racing in the scenic Finger Lakes region of New York. The 41-lap, 100.45-mile event is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM ET and will be broadcast live on FS2, with streaming available via the Fox Sports App and live radio coverage from MRN and ARCARacing.com.
