To give an idea on the money and numbers, a division like the Big 10 can put together an NIL package that pays the same as an AHL salary or higher. Championships matter and a team like MSU has had the season to scout the CHL as well as internationally. In the case of Augustine, he just finished his sophomore season. If a 6 figure (or higher) number is presented to play out 2 more years Detroit loses his signing rights.
