Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner were the standout players of the 2024 ATP Tour, and they might continue their dominance into 2025.

Sinner is among nine Italians in the top 100, having claimed victory at both the Australian Open and US Open.

Alcaraz on the other hand, secured titles at the French Open and Wimbledon, but ultimately finished third in the ATP rankings, behind Alexander Zverev.

However, Alcaraz will need to find consistency in 2025 to climb back up the rankings after experiencing several disappointing losses amid his remarkable victories.

Notably, he was stunned by a second-round defeat at the US Open and could not progress past the group stage at the ATP Finals.

Jack Draper named most improved player on ATP Tour in 2024

Another surprise defeat for Alcaraz in 2024 came against Jack Draper, with the British number one eliminating the defending champion in the second round at Queen’s in June.

This was just one of Draper’s impressive accomplishments this season, as the 22-year-old clinched his initial two ATP Tour-level titles.

These achievements propelled Draper from the 61st position in the ATP rankings at the year’s start to 15th at its close, making him arguably the most improved player of 2024.

US Open finalist Taylor Fritz also sees improvement in 2024

While Draper represented British tennis well, Ben Shelton acknowledges the progress of American tennis, and he is certainly correct.

Shelton contributed significantly to that advancement, but it was Taylor Fritz who stood out as the leader, enjoying an outstanding season on the court.
