The Sharks did their homework
Montenegrin water polo players routinely did their job as expected and placed among the top eight at the World Championships in Singapore.
The seriousness was on point, which was exactly what was required, so Canada had no chance – the “Sharks” celebrated 22:10 and scheduled a clash with Spain in the quarterfinals. That match is scheduled for Sunday, probably at 11.35:XNUMX AM.
The Canadians fought back until midway through the first quarter, leading 1:0, then reducing the lead to 3:2, but Montenegro easily escaped to plus five with a 4:0 run.
After 7:3 at the end of the first period, the second period definitely confirmed that the excitement was not real, so the advantage only grew – a 5:0 run was seen, and the plus was in double digits from the middle of the 3rd quarter…
Dejan Savić’s team reacted in the right way after a poor performance in the group match against China and did everything they didn’t do in that match – this time there was no relaxation, and then rivals like Canada have nothing to look forward to against Montenegro.
Filip Gardašević led the attack with five goals, Savo Ćetković scored four, Strahinja Gojković scored three… Only Miroslav Perković, Balša Vučković and Dimitrije Obradović did not make the list of scorers.
If there are no changes to the schedule, the match between Montenegro and Spain will be on Sunday at 11.35:XNUMX am.
There were no surprises in the remaining three matches of the round of 16.
Serbia defeated Japan 21:14 and scheduled a quarterfinal duel with the United States, while Hungary was better than Romania – 15:11.
The Hungarians now face Croatia, while the quarter-final pair consists of Greece and Italy, after they justified their role as favorites against Brazil (17:5) in Hellenic.
