Thielen Foundation unveils renovated weight room at Austin High School

AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) – The Thielen Foundation unveiled a fully renovated weight room at Austin High School Tuesday, delivering on a promise to support southeast Minnesota student-athletes.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen and his wife, Caitlin, established the Thielen Foundation to help inspire people to reach their full potential. The Minnesota native was on hand for the unveiling alongside Austin Packers athletes and supporters.

“Youth are on our hearts always, and just trying to help mentor, help give resources, opportunities,” Thielen said. “Our foundation is helping youth reach their full potential. This is a step in that direction. Obviously, Austin, a great community that deserves some resources and opportunities. So that’s why we’re here.”

Superintendent Dr. Joey Page of Austin Public Schools said the investment will have lasting impact.

“It’s just been incredible,” Page said. “The investment from the Thielen Foundation into our school system will impact so many people, and we’re just grateful.”

As part of the gift, the Thielen Foundation is also providing $1,000 scholarships to Austin student athletes who show leadership for their teammates.
