The Youngstown State men’s and women’s indoor track and field team claimed three of the four weekly Under Armour #HLTF Athlete-of-the-Week honors following the season-opening weekend, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Luke Laubacher was named the Men’s Runner of the Week, Madison Murry was tabbed the Women’s Runner of the Week and newcomer Emmanuel Asabere was selected as the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Laubacher clocked a personal-best time of 7.72 seconds in the 60m hurdles and ranks second in the NCAA following the first week of indoor competition at the YSU Icebreaker on Friday. Laubacher posted his time in the prelims before running a winning time of 7.77 seconds in the finals. He also finished third in the long jump with a leap of 7.27m on his only attempt the meet. To cap off a busy night, he placed fifth in the 200m with a time of 22.04 seconds.

Murry lowered her school record in the 60m hurdles to 8.36 seconds and ranks 10th in the NCAA following the first weekend of indoor competition at the YSU Icebreaker on Friday. Murry posted her time in the prelims before running a time of 8.39 seconds in the final. Both of her times were meet records. She concluded her evening with a seventh-place effort in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.44 seconds.

Asabere picked up a victory in his YSU debut earning the title in the long jump at the YSU Icebreaker on Friday. Asabere jumped a personal-best 7.45m on his final attempt of the meet to take first place. His jump of 7.45m ranks him sixth in the nation in the event following the first week of the indoor season.
