Time, TV channel for a whole lot of laps

Doesn’t sound like much on paper: 285 laps. Especially when it’s spread over three days and between four different races.

But it’s twisting and turning Watkins Glen, NASCAR’s longest-running road course, and those 285 laps — spread among ARCA, Trucks, Xfinity and Cup Series — will cover just under 700 miles.

Yes, yes, mileage may vary, depending on potential of an overtime finish here or there.

The Glen, once host to Formula One and IndyCar, now counts NASCAR as its only big-league customer these days. But along with a six-hour IMSA race in June, the upstate New York track makes the most of it this weekend, with an ARCA-Trucks doubleheader Friday followed by the normal weekend routine of Xfinity on Saturday and Cup on Sunday.

Here’s the busy lineup.
