Tom Brady names his Mt Rushmore of GOATs but leaves out a surprising name

It’s no secret that Tom Brady is a multitasker; the seven-time Super Bowl champion is a minority shareholder of the Las Vegas Raiders and just launched a new organic, vegan gummies label. And Tom Brady naturally appreciates other perfectionists in sports and recently spoke about his favourite athletes.

When Brady was asked about his Mount Rushmore of GOATS, i.e. his pick of the best athletes, he listed several icons from different sports. But what caught his fans’ attention was that he omitted a big name who is not just an NBA icon but also a friend.

Who is a part of Tom Brady’s Mt Rushmore of GOATs?

Tom Brady listed Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Shohei Ohtani, and a few other sports legends. Breaking down his picks, Brady said, “Michael Jordan, he was my childhood idol. Obviously, I loved Kobe Bryant,” he added. “Still love Kobe Bryant.”

“Tiger — his competitiveness. What Rory McIlroy has done; I love that. Shohei Ohtani, what he has done, has been unbelievable. Barry Bonds — he went to my high school. I was the biggest fan of his growing up. Michael Phelps, I love him. Michael Johnson. A’ja Wilson from my Las Vegas Aces. I love her. She’s amazing,” he said.

But Tom Brady notable left out LeBron James from the list, which is surprising considering Brady has praised James in the past and LeBron has also admitted to being friends with him.

Fans were quick to point out that Brady’s omission of LeBron’s name was surprising. But Tom Brady won brownie points for mentioning two young icons who have been engaged in something interesting.

These two stars are Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, whose “rivalry” has been one of the most talked-about storylines in women’s basketball. During the 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, Caitlin Clark (Iowa Hawkeyes) had a record-breaking tournament run while Angel Reese (LSU Tigers) led her team to victory and was able to match Clark’s drive and intensity.

Reese famously did the “you can’t see me” gesture and pointed to her ring finger during the championship game, which drew some flak and led to broader discussions on how Black female athletes are portrayed versus white athletes.

And Tom Brady mentioned their dynamic during his interview. “Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, this little thing they got going, I love that. It’s been really exciting,” he noted. Tom Brady has in the past cheered on Caitlin Clark and has also rooted for emerging female athletes, which impressed fans.

In another recent interview Tom Brady opened up about the common stereotypes he has been associated with. The interviewer asked him how Brady has often referred to himself as “hyper competitive” and “a psychopath” and whether he approaches business the same way.

Brady responded, “Actually, no. That’s what I need help with. And that’s why I have business partners who are psychopaths. They cross every t and dot the i’s. I approached football in a very different way — I was into the nuances of the sport I understood so well. And I’m realizing that in business, those details are what matter, too. Especially against tough competition.”

He further added, “Partnering with great people in the end is what matters the most. You’ve got to bet on people who have vision, experience, a great work ethic, and great teamwork. And you know that in business, just like sports, things don’t always go your way. So you’re always going to have to figure out ways to overcome adversity and beat the competition.”

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark returned from injury with a bang over the weekend, leading her team to their fifth win of the season.

On Tuesday, Clark and the Fever were back in action, facing Marina Mabrey and the Connecticut Sun for the second time this season after losing the first battle, 85-83.

And things got a little heated between the two teams in the second half.

With just under five minutes to play in the third quarter, Clark was poked in the face by Sun guard Jacy Sheldon. The former Iowa star shoved Sheldon in retaliation, but Mabrey took offense to this, walking over and shouldering Clark to the deck.

Mabrey, who played with Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky for the first half of last season, was only handed a technical foul for the incident. Clark and Tina Charles were also given techs, while Sheldon received a flagrant.

The heated exchange was posted by several accounts online and has now gone viral.

WNBA fans took notice of Clark’s heated moment with Mabrey, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

“This has to stop. Protect the players. Marina thinks its funny… along with her teammates… it is not. So dirty,” one fan said.

“Talk about poor sportsmanship, that is disgusting and is not a way promote their team and players. That team looks pretty bad/thuggish,” added another.

“She didn’t want to be apart of the blowout coming up,” joked a third.

“OMG they only gave her a technical, WTF!!!” wrote a fourth.

“What a bunch of bull crap. Should be two ejections on the Sun,” claimed a fifth.

Fever

The Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun were in a heated contest on Tuesday night. The Fever were up eight points at the half by a score of 47-39 and would keep on rolling as their biggest lead ballooned to 21.

However, things got chippy down the line between the two teams. The game got contentious when Fever Star Caitlin Clark and Sun Guard Jacy Sheldon found themselves in the middle of many tense encounters throughout the game. The emotions and competitive spirit would not stop there, as tensions would flare once again shortly afterwards.

Sophie Cunningham Gets Ejected After a Scrum During Fever-Sun Game

The Fever and Sun would have tensions flare again, with Sheldon again in the mix from the Sun’s side. Sheldon would find herself on a fast break with only Sophie Cunningham to beat, when Cunningham committed a hard foul on Sheldon, which would eventually lead to a scrum.

The play would result in an ejection for Cunningham with a flagrant-2 foul. However, it did not hurt the Fever too much, as there were 46.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter with the Fever maintaining an 87-70 lead. Indiana would go on to win by a final score of 88-71.

Caitlin Clark-Jacy Sheldon Matchup Gets Intense

Clark and Sheldon found themselves going back and forth throughout Tuesday night’s game between their respective clubs. Their first encounter came early in the second quarter as Clark and Sheldon appeared to exchange words with one another.

Their next heated moment would come shortly after halftime. Sheldon would receive a Flagrant 1 foul, with Clark, Tina Charles, and Marina Mabrey all receiving technical fouls for the extracurriculars afterwards:

Late in the fourth, Clark would hit a dagger three-point shot to put the Fever up 20 with under four minutes to go. The Sun would call a timeout shortly after to stop the momentum.

Once again, Clark and Sheldon ended up exchanging words. The interaction would end by Clark telling Sheldon, “You can’t guard me,” and then Clark proceeding to hype up the Indiana crowd, in which they responded with cheers:

Clark is known to play with a lot of emotion and fire. However, in a late-game scrum, it was Sophie Cunningham who was ejected for a foul on Sheldon, not Clark, marking the end of quite the intense game between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun, with Indiana coming out on top when all was said and done.

ROLLING FOR THE WIN — A high school athlete in Oregon recently went viral for her impressive moves and quick reaction that led to her win at the state track and field championship.

Brooklyn Anderson, a student at Thurston High School, was competing in the Oregon School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships on May 31, 2025.

Video taken by the NFHS Network, shows her running in the 100m hurdles event in the fourth lane. Not long after the race begins, Anderson begins to separate herself from the other athletes by cruising right ahead. But on the last hurdle and only seconds away from the finish line, Anderson unexpectedly trips.

While the fall could have knocked her to the ground, kept her there and cost her the race — it didn’t. Footage shows Anderson fall then immediately and gracefully flow into two somersaults that propelled her across the finish line.

“Nobody’s ever cheered for me that loud before,” Anderson said in an interview with Oregon Live.

Anderson ended up winning the race in 14.93 seconds. Talk about a way to finish strong.

“All I remember is resorting back to my gymnastics career and just somersaulting over that line,” she said. “I wasn’t sure how far back everybody else was behind me, so I knew to just keep rolling, to keep going, because I really wanted to get first.”
