Quincie Franklin is now 2-for-2 on the season.
The Scottsboro junior won the boys high jump for the second straight meet to open the 2024-25 indoor Track and Field season, clearing a winning height of 6 feet, 4 inches during Saturday’s Holiday Invitational No. 1 at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Franklin also cleared 6-4 to win the Magic City Invitational No. 1 the prevous Saturday.
Scottsboro had another athlete top the medal stand in their respective event, as Jacob Lovett edged teammate Craft Sanders on jump attempts for the top spot in the pole vault after both vaulters cleared 13 feet.
The Wildcats also got a third-place finish from Ryder Linville in the boys 1600-meter run (4:34.40) while Carter Hodges (10:10.03) and Miles Hodges (10:10.50) finished sixth and seventh respectively in the 3200-meter run.
Banks Bradford (11:42.85) turned in the best finish for the Scottsboro girls witha fourth-place finish in the 3200.
Mabry Bonsall added a pair of Top-10 finishes for the SHS girls, placing seventh in the 1600 (5:35.85) and 10th in the 800 (2:33.92).
Meanwhile, Skyline made its season debut at Saturday’s meet. Skyline’s girls and boys finished 30th and 32nd respectively in the 4×200-meter relay. Phoenix Fellman (13-1.5) finished 32nd in the girls long jump while Isaiah Yates (31-9) was 37th in the shot put.
