GENEVA — St. John’s University’s and former Brainerd Warrior Max Lelwica placed third in the decathlon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 22-24 in Geneva, Ohio.
Lelwica is coming off his MIAC Championship in the event May 2-3. Lelwica placed third in the high jump while posting fourth-place finishes in the 400-meter run, pole vault and 1500 run.
He placed fifth in 110 hurdles and sixth in the discus. The Johnnies finished fourth out of 73 teams at the Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
