DENTON, Texas — UNT’s track and field teams are set to compete at the Raleigh Relays hosted at NC State’s Paul Derr Track & Field Facility.
 
The meet begins Thursday afternoon and will run through Saturday evening. The Mean Green will see a step up in competition with teams from the Big Ten, ACC and SEC, among others headed to Raleigh. Live stats can be found at flashresults.com.QUOTE FROM COACH MARSHALL
“This weekend we travel to Raleigh and I think this will be a good opportunity to put some good performances together against some great competition,” head coach Doug Marshall said. “I’m looking forward to the challenge to see how our athletes react to the competition this weekend.”MEAN GREEN IN THE RANKINGS
– The UNT men’s track and field team landed at No. 9 in the NCAA South Central Regional rankings this week
– Led by Washington, who was a second-team All-American, the men’s 60 meters position group finished the indoor season ranked No. 5 in the country by USTFCCCA.
– The Mean Green have several athletes ranked inside the top 30 nationally in their respective events. Green is the highest ranked UNT athlete at No. 17 in the long jump with her mark of 6.07 meters last weekend. Parchman falls at No. 27 in the hammer throw, while McGill is ranked No. 28 in the 400-meter hurdles.
 LAST TIME OUT
North Texas opened its outdoor season with a solid performance at the TCU Alumni Invite. Chase Lehr won the men’s 800 meters to claim his first individual title in the event. Jake Parchman broke his own school record in the hammer throw and placed second at the meet with a mark of 63.27 meters. Icey Green and Clarence McGill both took second in their events at the season opener.
