When the wrestling board obtained bank statements, they learned Shannon made multiple withdrawals, made personal online purchases and wrote a check to himself, the complaint says.
After the meeting, a report was filed with Lehman Township police.
Board members gathered on Feb. 20 to discuss suspected missing funds from their account and Shannon’s reluctance to turn over bank statements for more than a year.
Police in the complaint say Shannon spent a total of ,128 from the wrestling club’s account for personal use.
Lehman Township police charged Ryan Alan Shannon, 34, of Sweet Valley, with two counts of theft and one count each of receiving stolen property, access device fraud, criminal use of communication facility and misapplying entrusted funds. The charges were filed with District Judge Brian Tupper in Kingston Township.
LEHMAN TWP. — A former treasurer of the Lake Lehman Elementary Wrestling Club is facing theft charges alleging he stole more than ,000 from the club for personal use.
According to the criminal complaint:
Shannon was removed as treasurer by the club’s board of directors on Feb. 27.
