Two Volleyball Matches to be Nationally Televised
The Syracuse Volleyball program will play two matches on a nationally televised broadcast this season, with the ACC Network picking up the rights to a pair of October matches, ESPN announced on Thursday.
The Orange will have one home nationally televised game, which will take place on October 19 at 2:00 PM before they hit the road for a match against Boston College on October 22 at 7:00 PM. Both will air on the ACC Network.
The Orange and Tar Heels will meet for the 17th time in the two programs’ histories. The Tar Heels have the edge in the all-time series with 13 wins to the Orange’s three. The clash with Boston College serves as the 56th all-time battle between the Orange and the Eagles, with Syracuse owning a strong 39-15 lead in the series.
The Orange are coming off the heels of a season in which they went 15-17 and dominated their way to a 12-0 record during non-conference play. Entering his fourth season at the helm, Head Coach Bakeer Ganesharatnam brings a new look roster to 2025. Syracuse added 10 new student athletes to the fray, including three freshmen and seven transfers.
Senior Gabriella McLaughlin and junior Tehya Maeva join Syracuse after having played at the University of Nevada, Reno. McLaughlin was an All-Mountain West selection a year ago after leading the Wolfpack with 443 kills on the year. Maeva, a setter, teamed up with McLaughlin for a number of those kills after she led Nevada with 895 assists. Maeva paced the Wolfpack in aces, posting 29 in 2024.
Of those returning, redshirt-sophomore Skylar George is back after finishing second on the team in kills with 258 while also posting seven double-doubles. Junior Veronica Sierzant will also return for the Orange after leading the wat with 659 assists.
The remaining television designations will be announced at a later date. For more information about the Syracuse Volleyball program, visit Cuse.com.
