This playful interaction not only showcased his engaging personality but also resonated deeply with fans and aspiring young athletes alike.

NFL Players Go Viral For Chugging Miller Lites At Practice Thursday

This may be the most serious time of the year for NFL players other than the regular season itself, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be time for some fun.

The Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles have been having joint practice this week ahead of their preseason game this weekend. At one point during practice, some of the players on the sidelines taking a break got together and decided to enjoy some Miller Lite beers together.

“Best pic of the summer: big men on both teams cracking open Miller Lites on the field after practice like they did in the 70s,” NFL analyst Warren Sharp noted on X.

According to Philadelphia sports reporter Ashlyn Sullivan, it was Eagles offensive lineman Landon Dickerson who brought the brews. Following a successful surgery this week he decided to mark the occasion by bringing in a whole cooler of beer to share with his teammates and the Browns.

“Landon Dickerson one day post surgery just brought out a cooler of Miller Lites to share with the #Browns OL… now that’s a guys guy,” Sullivan wrote.

Fans loved it

NFL fans found it very fun to see the players all getting together and having fun with some beers:

“Ripping beers at work that’s what I’m talking about!” one user declared.

“All the boys say Hell Yeah,” wrote another.

“The best teams all have a good attitude to booze,” a third wrote.

“Offensive linemen are the best football players.”

“This is exactly what you want to see from your O-linemen.”

A few people complained that it was inappropriate, but many of those replies were written off as being a stick in the mud. But they did still make the point that the league will probably winding up fining Dickerson for that.

But even if he does wind up a little lighter in the wallet, the players will probably say it was worth it. They might even reimburse him just for the fun memory.

College coach goes viral for rant about money ruining players

With the landscape of college athletics ever changing, one coach is reminding his players the real reason why they’re in school and is pushing against the idea of playing college football to earn money.

Earlier this year, the so-called ‘House settlement’ paved the way for colleges and universities to pay student-athletes part of their revenue earned from athletics each year.

This, on top of ‘name, image, and likeness’ (NIL) deals, means that athletes have greater earning potential in college than ever before.

Thomas Hammock's passionate message for players and parents on NIL and transfer portal ...

Long before he led his Northern Illinois Huskies to a shocking upset of Notre Dame, Thomas Hammock was a two-time All American running back for NIU running for over 1,000 yards in both his sophomore and junior seniors.

When his playing career was cut short due to a heart condition, forcing him to step away with a season of eligibility remaining, Hammock immediately got involved in coaching, starting as a graduate assistant at Wisconsin before going on to coach running backs at NIU and Minnesota and with the Badgers before a stint on John Harbaugh’s staff in the NFL.

In 2021, shortly after taking over at his alma mater, NIU was picked to finish last in the MAC and instead went out and won the league with a 9-5 mark. Over the next three seasons, Hammock has led the program to two bowl games and a pair of bowl wins.

Yesterday evening, at his weekly presser, Hammock was asked if he had thoughts on making the transfer portal “more fair” and his response has been making waves across social media.  By January earlier this year, the Huskies had seen 19 players enter the portal.

“To be honest with you, I love the challenge. It don’t bother me one bit, because in life you are going to make decisions – sometimes it is going to work in your favor and sometimes it is not.”

“I told our guys earlier today, yeah we lost all these guys, but let’s see who plays. It’s all good when people put on Twitter, ‘All glory to God, I’m going in the transfer portal,’ but let’s see if they play. How many of those guys are going to play? Or travel? Or get snaps?”

“I was going to tweet something the other day…a picture of me, and say I enjoyed my college experience and I didn’t get one dime, but the lessons I learned was more valuable than any money you could ever pay me. And I appreciate that, because that is long term. People are losing sight of the fact that this is short term.”

“Don’t lose focus of the long term. Get your degree. Learn valuable lessons that are going to help you in the long term of your life. That is the whole purpose. This is a transition from being a kid to being a grown up, and I hope people don’t lose focus of that. Everyone is talking about everything else other than what is the most important thing about going to college, because if you’re going to college to go get a couple dollars, you might as well go get a job. [College football] is too hard than to do it to get a couple dollars.”

“Learn the lessons that you need to learn to be successful in life for the next 40 to 50 years of your life. That’s it. I would do it again for free. FOR FREE, because of the things I learned. That is why I am standing here today, because of what I learned in college. Not because of what someone gave me.”

“That is what I would tell people, and parents need to learn that lesson too. Stop trying to live through your kids. Teach them what they need to learn to be successful. That’s what I’m teaching my kids. Not about NIL or revenue sharing…I couldn’t care less. You need to learn things in college that prepare you in life to be a father, a husband, to work, and everything else.”

“Those are the most important things.”

Cheering for your favorite team instills a sense of fulfillment and pride onto the athletes. But what happens when that passion goes a little too far? One Padres fan’s elated cheers at Oracle Park on this week had not only the fans in the stands annoyed, but TV viewers covering their ears at home.

Woman Screaming At Padres Game

A woman who was sitting behind home plate at the Padres vs. Giants game went viral overnight after her screams were picked up by the broadcasters’ microphones, much to the annoyance of fans everywhere. A clip of her cheering went viral on Reddit, where one can clearly hear her yelling as the broadcaster quips in amusement, “She loves the Padres.”

Not everyone found it amusing, however. Complaints flooded the internet during Monday night’s game in San Francisco. So much so that it led one of the stadium staffers to politely ask her to pipe down.

TikTok account @socalnews shared a clip filmed from behind the disruptive fan. It captures an usher addressing the fan, asking her if she’s “all right.”

“You’re kind of anxious over here, getting complaints,” he tells her. After the woman promises to be quiet, the usher assures her she doesn’t have to be “too quiet.”

“It’s good to yell for your team. I’m not trying to stop it,” he continues. “You haven’t been swearing so you’re all good but–” and the video cuts off.

Viewers Couldn’t Be More Divided

In the TikTok’s comments section, several users defended the woman, saying it wasn’t her fault the mic picked up her gusto.

“She paid her ticket, its a sporting event. Let her be,” one user wrote.

Another added, “Seems likes it’s not her fault to me? Why is the mic in such a close vicinity? If I’m paying big money to watch a game, CLOSE, I’m going to be loud AF!.”

A third user claimed that getting in trouble for “being too loud at the stadium is crazy.”

Others praised the usher for the way he respectfully approached the woman.

“Not enough people are talking about how cute this man is trying to nicely tell her to chill without making her feel bad,” one said.

One viewer said the man deserved an award for being respectful. “Encouraging towards rooting for your team. And firm that she should stop interrupting the broadcast. Their both good people I’m sure,” they said.

Still, the majority of commenters were complaining about the woman’s “awful screeching” that ruined their viewing experience.

Unruly Fans At Padres Games

This isn’t the first time San Diego Padres fans have made headlines. Last June, Washington outfielder Jesse Winker “went into the stands for a heated argument with a fan after the Padres’ 7-6 walk-off win in 10 innings,” per the New York Post.

In another headline from the Guardian, fans at Dodger Stadium threw trash and baseballs at Padres left fielder Jurickson Profar. This caused a 12-minute delay during the seventh inning.

While the fan at this week’s game did nothing so egregious, her excitement still grated on folks ears. Still, many thought she was innocent. As one user commented on the TikTok, “She did nothing wrong! Go Padres!”

BroBible reached out to SoCalNews via TikTok direct message.

A San Diego Padres fan seated directly behind home plate became the unexpected center of attention during Monday night’s Padres–San Francisco Giants game at Oracle Park. Throughout the matchup, the woman was heard loudly screaming, her voice cutting through the broadcast microphones and dominating the game’s soundscape. Fans watching from home and in the stands quickly took notice, with many commenting online about the persistent noise. By the middle innings, an usher approached the woman to address the situation. On the field, the Padres struck back in the later innings: Jackson Merrill launched an RBI double in the sixth, followed by a Rafael Devers solo homer to even the score. But the real fireworks arrived in the seventh—Jake Cronenworth delivered a go-ahead single, and Freddy Fermin smashed a two-run homer to seal the deal. San Diego pulled away for a commanding 4–1 victory over San Francisco. #padres #baseball #sandiego #sanfrancisco #giants

Cameras caught Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow ignoring an autograph request from a young fan in public.

There’s no shortage of stories involving celebrities ignoring fans’ pleas for autographs, selfies, etc. It’s been going on forever, but we see more instances of it these days because of cellphones and social media.

The complex reality for fans is that celebrities simply don’t have time to stop and greet every fan that sees them walking in public, especially one of America’s most beloved athletes like Joe Burrow.

Nonetheless, some fans are ripping on Joe Burrow for ignoring a young fan’s autograph request while walking around in an undisclosed location in the evening. Other fans stood in front of Burrow to get a selfie (he clearly wasn’t thrilled), ignoring the autograph request as he made his way into a vehicle:

If you go through the reactions on the two X/Twitter posts above, you’ll see conflicting responses from fans. Some thought he should have taken a few seconds to make the kid’s day, but others defended Burrow and cited his right to privacy and peace.

But folks shouldn’t let this one instance shape their belief about how Joe Burrow treats his fans. Jay Morrison of Bengals Talk snapped a photo of Burrow giving autographs to a few fans at Wednesday’s practice:

Also, considering that Burrow was one of several prominent athletes to have their homes burglarized last year, it’s understandable that he might be extra low-key and private when he’s out in public.

Burrow and the Bengals have been notoriously slow starters since his 2020 rookie year. A 0-3 start in 2024 proved costly, as the Bengals’ 9-8 finish kept them out of the postseason by one game.

The Bengals will try to avoid another sluggish start when they visit the AFC North rival Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8.

Viral video of blindfolded Charlotte chess players brings renewed attention to the game

CHARLOTTE, NC — Daniel Naroditsky is a chess king in the Queen City. He’s currently ranked 150th in the world. He’s so good he can play the game blindfolded and so he did.

A sightless Naroditsky beat his competition in a game of Bullet Chess in just 44 seconds.

The video posted last month, has been viewed 5.5 million times on Instagram.

“I’m a pretty private person. Total introvert, chess player but, it is still crazy. Like when you think about the scale of people who’ve seen it and all the positive comments,” said Naroditsky of the video.

Naroditsky achieved the title of Grandmaster at 18. Which he says is actually quite old for the sport. At the ripe of old age of 29, he know considers himself semi-retired from classical chess.

He now focuses his attention on the faster forms of chess like in the video. He also is a Youtube hit with 475k followers.

“It’s nice to see that chess has this positive association in people’s mind instinctively, rather than this negative association of like old men sitting in basements,” said Naroditsky of the renewed interest in chess.

The Grandmaster now acts as a bit of an Ambassador for chess, especially here in Charlotte and for the Charlotte Chess Center, a group that is also working to grow the game by doing anything from hosting chess nights at local breweries to putting on tournaments of 700 in the Queen City.

A spokesperson for the the charlotte chess center says since Naroditsky’s video went viral, they have seen more people showing up to local events.
