The 2025 Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals powered by Hagerty and the 2025 Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge (UTCC) presented by Grassroots Motorsports will converge at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (Pitt Race) in Wampum, Pennsylvania, this September, creating one of the most anticipated track weekends of the year. Scheduled for September 18–21, this marks the first time the two headline events will be held at the same facility during the same weekend.

The UTCC, now in its second decade, will take place on Thursday, September 18, ahead of the Time Trials Nationals. Known for its open-format rules, the UTCC welcomes all entrants—professional and amateur alike—provided the vehicle passes a basic safety inspection. With no limits on tires, modifications or powertrain configurations, the event emphasizes raw speed and engineering creativity over classification.

The Time Trials Nationals, set for September 19–21, serves as the cornerstone of the SCCA’s national-level time attack competition. Since debuting in 2018, the event has grown into the season-ending championship for the SCCA Time Attack Challenge Series, and previously for the Time Trials National Tour (2019-2024). The 2025 Nationals will close out the series, with final points scored and champions crowned following multiple timed sessions across the three-day program.

Combining these events creates a unique opportunity for drivers and teams to participate—and possibly take home a trophy—in both competitions.

NASCAR Driver Toni Breidinger Turns Heads With ‘Perfect’ Swimsuit Photo originally appeared on The Spun.

NASCAR Truck Series driver Toni Breidinger is truly taking the sports world by storm.

From a career standpoint, Breidinger has landed a plethora of marquee sponsors this year. In just the past few months, she has collaborated with Coach and 818 Tequila. Fans have also grown to love her paint schemes. She’ll be sporting a Sunoco-inspired scheme for this Friday’s race.

Breidinger, the first Arab American woman to compete in NASCAR, has done a great job of building up her brand on and off the track. Well before the 2025 season started, she was offered the chance to be part of the 2025 rookie class for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. It was an opportunity that she refused to pass up.

“It’s an honor to be featured in the 2025 issue,” Breidinger said. “It’s very surreal to be in this issue alongside so many inspiring athletes. Thank you a million to everyone who made this dream of mine come true.”

Breidinger was photographed by the SI Swimsuit team in Boca Raton, Florida. As you’d expect, her rookie photoshoot was a huge success.

On Racing Pocono Raceway Like a Road Course: “From watching past race footage, it definitely looks like my road course experience will come in handy, especially in the high-speed, high-commitment corners. The fundamentals of technique are very similar, but taking a truck right to the limit is incredibly nuanced, and nothing truly prepares you for that except seat time in the real thing.

“It’s wild to see how Pocono has road course-style corners yet still races like a traditional NASCAR oval because of the bump-drafting and the battles between the high and low lines.

“I’d even say it looks like classic oval racing on starts and restarts, but once things get single-file and stretched out, it starts to resemble road racing again. Very interesting dynamic!”

On Pocono Raceway Goals: “I’d love to get some of our recent momentum back and leave Pocono Raceway with a lead-lap, top-15 finish. Even if we fall a bit short of that, a solid top-20 would still give us something to build on.

● Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez | The Chilango 150 Race Recap: NASCAR went south of the border this past weekend as the NASCAR Xfinity Series returned to Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, joining the NASCAR Cup Series in the heart of Mexico City, Mexico.

For Anthony Alfredo and the No. 42 Young’s Motorsports team, the weekend was a true exercise in perseverance.

After showing encouraging speed in their No. 42 Dude Wipes Chevrolet during practice, disaster struck late in the session with a crash that left the car significantly damaged.

With limited time before the green flag, the team rallied to make urgent repairs, foregoing qualifying and locking Alfredo into a 38th-place starting spot.

From the moment the race began, Alfredo methodically began working through the chaos of road course traffic in his patched-up machine.

Despite battling failing brakes and suffering a flat tire during the event, the Connecticut native kept his composure and brought home a hard-fought 21st-place finish.

The result marked a meaningful step forward, especially as Young’s Motorsports returned to international competition in Mexico for the first time since 2008.

More importantly, the team collected valuable points during a weekend where simply making it to the start was a victory in itself.

With 15 races now complete in the 2025 Xfinity Series campaign, Alfredo and the No. 42 crew are focused on building momentum heading into a pivotal summer stretch, where rhythm, reliability, and resilience will be key.

On Saturday, he will be crew chief in his 145th NASCAR Xfinity Series race. In his previous 144 races, he has four top-five and 14 top-10 finishes.

The season’s 16th race will be his fourth tango at Pocono Raceway as crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The Explore The Pocono Mountains 250 (100 laps | 250 miles) is the 16th of thirty-three (33) NASCAR Xfinity Series races on the 2025 schedule. A pair of 25-minute practices will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. Qualifying will immediately follow at 11:05 a.m. The 38-car field will take the green flag shortly after 3:30 p.m., with live coverage on The CW Network, the Motor Racing Network (Radio), and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90. Young’s Motorsports PR

Hyak Motorsports has parted ways with spotter Tab Boyd, who worked with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and the No. 47 Chevrolet. Weekend rosters show that Clayton Hughes will be atop the spotter’s stand for Pocono, replacing Boyd.

Stenhouse confirmed the news on Friday morning in a SiriusXM NASCAR interview, saying: “That’s an unfortunate deal. The team let Tab Boyd go this week, and we got Clayton Hughes to come fill in. I’ve never worked with Clayton.”

No reason was given for the firing of Boyd and while Motorsport.com reached out to the team for clarification, we have not yet heard back from team representatives. 

Mexico controversy

However, Boyd has been in the news this week for sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter) where he expressed his displeasure with Mexico during NASCAR’s recent visit – the first points-paying Cup race outside of the United States since 1958.

Boyd has since deleted his account after pushback online, but the original post read as follows: “I’m ready to go home, screw this place, people can talk it up all they want. Can’t even walk out the front door of the hotel without getting hustled and money snatched in less than five minutes. Good area my ass.”

Boyd was apparently the victim of scammers and while he will not be working the Cup race this weekend, he is still listed as the spotter for Ryan Ellis and the No. 71 DGM Racing Chevrolet in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, as well as for Luke Baldwin and the No. 66 ThorSport Ford in the NASCAR Truck Series.

Boyd is a veteran spotter with years of experience, previously working with Hendrick Motorsports and William Byron on the No. 24 Chevrolet. He joined Stenhouse and the No. 47 team three years ago in 2022 and together, the duo won the 2023 Daytona 500.

This situation follows Spire Motorsports’ decision to fine their own driver, Carson Hocevar. On Tuesday, the team announced that Hocevar was fined $50,000 following an internal investigation into comments he made on a Twitch live-stream, calling Mexico a “s***hole.” The money will go to various Mexican charities and Hocevar will have to undergo mandatory cultural-sensitivity and bias-awareness training.
