UC Davis alum Maximilian Arfsten (2019-21) has been named as a 2025 MLS All-Star. Roster selections were determined via fan voting (12 players), MLS All-Star head coach Nico Estévez (12 players), and MLS Commissioner Don Garber (two players). Arfsten was one of Estévez’s selections.

The former Aggie has had a breakout season so far with the Columbus Crew with four goals and three assists as a defender. The performance not only got Arfsten an All-Star nod, but also a CONCACAF Gold Cup starting position on the US Men’s National Team (USMNT).

Arfsten played two seasons at UC Davis from 2019-21 (2020 season was canceled due to COVID) and compiled nine goals and eight assists. The Fresno, Calif. product was a Big West All-Freshman Team selection in 2019 and was named Offensive Player of the Year and All-Big West First Team in 2021. Arfsten decided to go pro in 2022, signing with San Jose Earthquakes II, and was drafted 14th overall by the Columbus Crew in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft.

The MLS All-Star Game will feature the MLS standouts against the LIGA MX All-Stars in the All-Star Game on July 23 in Q2 Stadium (Austin, Texas). Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT and can be streamed on MLS Season Pass via AppleTV, DirecTV, Comcast Xfinity or Amazon Prime Video.
