GIVE TO ATHLETICS
DAVIS, Calif. – This Friday, April 11 starting at noon marks the beginning of UC Davis’ annual Give Day where alumni, parents and friends of the Aggies are encouraged to donate to UC Davis Athletics’ 25 teams and various department initiatives.
While donations are accepted year-round, April 11 is the official beginning of the 29-hour window where fans and supporters are encouraged to take part in Give Day by heading to the official site here.
During 2024’s give day, all of the Aggie programs were able to raise $436,878 behind 1,586 gifts, increasing athletics’ total in both money raised and total gifts from that previous season.
The total figures are also the highest in UC Davis Give Day history.
“Give Day is one of the most exciting times for the development office each year,” said Senior Associate Athletics Director, Chief Development Officer Liz Gullett. “We work so hard to make sure that our coaches are set up for success and as the dollars come in, we are filled with pride that our donors are getting the message and stepping up.
“Over the years, our teams have been able to have some elevated experiences because of the gifts that come in on Give Day and I’m looking forward to seeing the results from this year’s campaign.”
Since its inception in 2017, UC Davis Athletics has raised over $2.6 million in total gifts during Give Day, supporting 25 varsity sports programs.
Supporters of UC Davis Athletics can donate to their team of choice or to various other department initiatives like, Sports Medicine and the Exclusive Excellence Fund. Donations starting at $5 are encouraged to showcase their Aggie Pride.
There are a variety of Challenge Gifts this year which will unlock when their team’s donor goals are met. Check out Athletics’ Give Day page to learn more about this year’s Challenge Gifts.
This year each team will compete within groupings of four to five other teams for the highest number of donors.
The winner of each group will win additional team meals each quarter.
