COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The University of Michigan men’s track and field team opened the 44 Farms Team Invitational at Texas A&M with strong performances on Friday (April 11) at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Corey Royster finished 16th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.96 seconds (+2.3m/s). Had the time been wind-legal, it would have been a personal best and tied for No. 7 on the program performers list. Jacob Koerner tied his season-best time of 21.42 to finish 36th, while Amit Rutman finished 56th with a personal-best time of 21.91.
In the 800-meter run, Aiden Sullivan led a trio of Wolverines with an eighth-place finish and a personal-best time of 1:50.58. Riley Flemington placed 13th (1:51.19) and Kepler Huntress placed 20th (1:51.87).
Eli Winter finished fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 63.19 meters (207 feet, 3 inches), just 0.72m shy of his personal best.
A pair of pole vaulters set personal bests for the second straight meet, with Liam Kinney and Cole Sheldon both clearing 5.05m (16-6.75) to finish third and fourth, respectively. The duo came just 0.03m short of the No. 10 mark on the program performers list.
Michigan will close its competition in College Station, Texas, on Saturday (April 12), with action at the 44 Farms Team Invitational beginning at 2 p.m. CT with the hammer throw at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
