UMF Men Win 2025 NAC Track & Field Championship
WATERVILLE, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington men’s outdoor track & field team captured the 2025 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship on Saturday at the Alfond Track on the campus of Colby College. The title marks the first NAC men’s outdoor track & field championship in program history.
The Beavers cruised to victory with 227 team points — 78 more than runner-up Thomas College, which finished with 149 points. UMaine-Farmington also won the women’s team title, becoming the first program to sweep the NAC outdoor championships since SUNY Delhi in 2019.
Husson University placed third with 89 points, followed by UMaine-Presque Isle (62 points), VTSU-Johnson (38 points), and Lesley University (20 points) to complete the six-team field.
UMaine-Farmington won nine events – including both relay races – en route to the dominant victory, as senior Justin Castaldo picked up a pair of wins (1500, 800) and sophomore Andrew LaFlamme posted two victories (3000-Meter Steeplechase, 5000). Nate Trussell (110-Meter Hurdles), Alex Crews (Shot Put), and Seamus Reeve (Pole Vault) also notched individual wins.
Thomas College was led by sophomore Nick Plamondon, who picked up wins in the 100-Meter and 200-Meter while senior Max Bojarski broke the only men’s record in this year’s championship with a 49.69m heave in the Hammer Throw. Sophomore Henry Phillips also won the Javelin Throw.
Husson University featured a pair of individual winners in freshmen Matthew Scamman (400-Hurdles) and Colin Simpson (Triple Jump) while VTSU-Johnson was led by junior Eli Wilson and sophomore Sabree Glover, who earned victories in the High Jump and 400-Meter, respectively.
UMaine-Presque Isle junior Xavier McAtee earned the NAC Discus Throw title with a 40.22m toss and Lesley University junior Hezekiah Brown paced the Long Jump field with a 6.54m distance.
