University of Hawaii wahine volleyball team gears up for another season
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – University of Hawaii is gearing up to welcome back the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team.
Coach for the team, Robyn Ah Mow’s club begins the season Friday night against Marquette.
Their coming off a strong 2024 campaign that saw them win the Big West Championship before falling in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Last year’s conference player of the year Caylen Alexander transferred to Missouri after a breakout season.
But coach is pleased with the chemistry thus far and UH lab grad and sophomore middle blocker Miliana Sylvester is expected to have a big year.
Sylvester said “You know, the pressure of opening night, the pressure of the fans, the pressure of the anticipation, all of that is a privilege. if you can just center yourself and be thankful that you’re in this moment, take it all in, and at the end of the day, you’re still in between the lines with six girls, it’s gonna be great
