The medical examiner said the Reno teen died at the ski resort’s first aid facility.Another friend who said they were skiing with the teen on Thursday posted, “I do know that he did not suffer. He was being himself, and he was doing what he loved.”His sister, Alissa Chavalithumrong, posted on Instagram about her brother, “Max was a special kid who we loved very much.”On Facebook, a friend wrote, “Dear Max, you were taken from all of us too soon. You will be missed by so many people that absolutely adore you.”The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the skier who died at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe Resort on Jan. 9 as Max Chavalithumrong, 18. The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries due to a collision with a fixed object while skiing.According to Chavalithumrong’s social media, he was a freshman engineering student at the University of Nevada, Reno, and a 2023 graduate of Washoe County School District’s Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology high school in Reno.
