NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. — With the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway only a few weeks away, a new addition to the surrounding area will help make things easier for fans traveling to the speedway.

Back in April, the NC Department of Transportation installed a new bridge over US 421 “to accommodate pedestrians attending events at the raceway and eliminate the need to close a nearby road.”

According to NCDOT, the bridge is 16 feet wide and gives easy access to pedestrians who park in lots south of US 421.

The bridge is expected to open to foot traffic with a small ceremony in early May.
