PHILADELPHIA- After dominating the Sabers in Buffalo yesterday morning, the Utah Hockey Club looked to go undefeated on the quick trip to the East Coast as they battled the Flyers in the City of Brotherly Love.

It was a quiet first period as the two teams closed out the frame scoreless, but a physical opening to the second led to an offensive explosion as the Utah Hockey Club and Philadelphia Flyers combined for five goals in the period. Michael Carcone and Juuso Valimaki scored only minutes apart during an onslaught that resulted in a 2-2 tie, but Logan Cooley put Utah on top ahead of the intermission with a beautiful power-play goal.

Despite holding a lead, Utah took the fight to Philadelphia in the third and they were able to take advantage of a huge mistake from the Flyers as Morgan Frost whiffed on a sitting puck as he tried to push the Philadelphia power play, allowing Kevin Stenlund to pick it up and beat the goalie five-hole to give Utah the two-goal lead.

Utah escaped the East Coast with four points and their first consecutive victories since October and will head back home to take on the Minnesota Wild on December 10.
