Volleyball Announces 2025 Nonconference Schedule
LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head volleyball coach Rob Neilson announced the team’s 2025 nonconference schedule on Tuesday. Along with the team’s Mountain West slate, the Aggies will play a total of 12 matches this year against foes who finished in the top 100 of the RPI in 2024.
Utah State’s season will kick off in Hawai’i as the Aggies will participate in the Rainbow Wahine Volleyball Classic. USU will first face San Diego on Friday, Aug. 29, before taking on tournament-host Hawai’i on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Aggies will close the tournament with a match versus Marquette on Sunday, Aug. 31. The Golden Eagles finished 2024 ranked 21st in the AVCA rankings.
The Aggies will then reopen Club Estes for the 2025 season, hosting Texas A&M on Friday, Sept. 5, and Utah on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Wayne Estes Center. Both the Aggies and Utes were included in the final AVCA rankings of 2024 at 16th and 23rd, respectively.
USU returns to the road for its toughest test of the season, facing Stanford on the road on Friday, Sept. 12. The Cardinals ended 2024 ranked fifth in the country and reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The Aggies will then take on UC Davis in a neutral match on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Utah State then faces a trio of in-state opponents as the Aggies will take on Utah Valley on the road on Tuesday, Sept. 16. Utah State will welcome BYU to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on Thursday, Sept. 18, as the team attempts to break the all-time state attendance record for a volleyball match. USU will also take on Weber State inside the Spectrum on Saturday, Sept. 20, to conclude the team’s nonconference schedule.
In total, the Aggies will play eight matches against teams who played in the 2024 NCAA Tournament (Hawaii, Marquette, Texas A&M, Utah, Stanford, BYU and Colorado State). USU will have 12 matches against teams who finished in the top 100 of the RPI last season.
