Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers volleyball program was honored with the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT.
The Scarlet Knights were among the more than 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball programs that maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year. RU boasted a 3.553 GPA during the 2024-25 academic year.
Eight Scarlet Knights were named Academic All-Big Ten in the fall with a cumulative GPA over a 3.0, while two members of the squad, including rising junior Kenzie Dyrstad, were bestowed with Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades for attaining a 3.7 GPA or higher during the 2024-25 year.

The membership includes more than 10,000 collegiate, professional, high school, club, and youth volleyball coaches—primarily in the United States.
