LINCOLN, Neb. – The No. 6 seeded Texas A&M volleyball team continues its postseason campaign as it faces No. 2 seed Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 Friday evening at the Bob Devaney Sports Center with first serve set for 6 p.m.

The Aggies reached the Sweet 16 for the eighth time in program history and first in five years following a pair of 3-1 wins versus Colorado State and No. 3 seed Arizona State in the opening two rounds. Both matches saw the teams trade the first two sets, before the Maroon & White won back-to-back frames in both matches to claim the victories.

The Maroon & White will face a familiar foe in the Sweet 16, as they take on the Badgers for the second time this season and the 10th time in their history. Wisconsin grabbed a tightly contested three-set victory in Madison earlier in the year, improving its lead in the all-time series to 7-2. This meeting looks back at history, as the last time A&M reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament was during the 2019 season, when they met Wisconsin, falling in three sets to the eventual national runners-up.

Opposite hitter Logan Lednicky was the driving force behind the Maroon & White’s two victories in Tempe, Arizona, as she logged 50 kills over the two matches with 23 coming versus Colorado State and 27 against Arizona State. The junior now sits at 469 kills on the year which is good for third all-time in a single season in program history during the rally-scoring era.

Standing out in the region, Lednicky and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla continued to collect postseason honors, as the duo were named to the All-Southwest Region Team. This marked Lednicky’s third-consecutive regional honor and secured back-to-back years earning regional recognition for Cos-Okpalla.

Entering the third round of the NCAA Tournament, the Aggies rank among the leaders in the country in four statistical categories, including 15th in assists per set (13.05), 31st in kills per set (13.74), 37th in hitting percentage (.256) and 48th in blocks per set (2.49).
