It’s time to vote for Florida Times-Union’s next Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 27-Feb. 1, 2025.The senior winger scored six goals, two in the District 1-7A semifinal against First Coast and four in the final against Fletcher, to lead the Mustangs to the district trophy.
The senior recorded total lifts of 330 pounds (traditional) and 310 pounds (Olympic), winning both events at 119 pounds and helping the Golden Eagles top the Region 1-2A Olympic standings.The sophomore guard hit the game-winning overtime 3-pointer to defeat Ribault and tallied a game-high 20 points in a victory over Sandalwood.The Times-Union gathers nominees from scores, stats and nominations e-mailed to the sports desk during the week by coaches across Northeast Florida. Coaches can e-mail these stats and scores to preps@jacksonville.com. Deadline to receive nominations is 7 p.m. Saturdays.
