A recent report from SponsorUnited suggested sponsorship deals in women’s sports have grown at a 12 per cent year-over-year (YoY) rate. The NWSL was found to be leading the way amongst women’s sports properties with a 19 per cent YoY increase.
Contract:
- CVS Health’s logo to continue appearing on the front of the Spirit’s home and away kits
- Three-year extension to see CVS Health support staff and community programs
- CVS Health’s logo and brand messages to appear on electronic pitchside advertising, player announcements to also be presented by CVS Health
Context:
The National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) Washington Spirit has expanded its front-of-kit partnership with CVS Health.
The Spirit’s home game against Orlando Pride on 18th October will be ‘CVS Health Day’, featuring health-related initiatives and programming focused on women’s health.
Comment:
The Spirit said this was a multimillion-dollar investment and ranked among the most valuable NWSL sponsorship deals in the league. This comes after the Portland Thorns reportedly signed the richest deal in NWSL history with home security specialist Ring, which is worth more than US.5 million per year.
