The No. 1 Nebraska Cornhuskers (1-0) are looking to wrap up their weekend with another victory when they host the No.6 Stanford Cardinal (1-0). The Huskers are coming off a 3-1 season-opening victory against No. 3 Pittsburgh (25-22, 25-11, 20-25, 25-23).
Harper Murray led the Huskers with 15 kills off 36 attacks, six digs, one service ace and a block. Andi Jackson had 10 kills with a team-high eight blocks. She was also named the MVP of the match. Taylor Landfair also contributed eight blocks alongside eight kills off 23 attacks.
The Cardinal defeated the Florida Gators 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22) at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Friday night. The Cardinal returns first-team All-American outside hitter Elia Rubin. Rubin had a team-high 3.93 kills per set while hitting .283 with 2.53 digs per set last year.
Stanford leads the all-time series with Nebraska, holding a 12-8 advantage; however, the Huskers have a two-match winning streak in the series, with victories in 2023 (3-1) and 2024 (3-0). Coach Dani Busboom Kelly has a career record of 3-2 against the Cardinal, including a victory over Stanford in the 2024 NCAA regional final at Louisville.
