Water Polo: Macalester Has Second-Highest Team GPA in Nation Again

ST. PAUL, Minn. – For the second year in a row the Macalester College water polo team posted the second-highest team grade-point average (3.76) among all women’s collegiate water polo teams to receive the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-Academic Team Award. Also, all 16 members of the Scots’ water polo team earned the All-Academic Award from the ACWPC.

Macalester posted the second-best cumulative team GPA behind Connecticut College (3.77) and ahead of prestigious Division I programs Harvard (3.71), Stanford (3.60) and Brown (3.59).

To be eligible for the ACWPC All-Academic Award, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.20 or higher.

The 16 Scots to earn the ACWPC All-Academic Award are Kendall Coney (League City, Texas/Clear Creek), Olivia Dimka (Denton, Texas/John H. Guyer), Brooke Lane (Meriden, Conn./Hopkins School), Sian Lewandowski (North Haven, Conn./Williston Northampton) and Elizabeth Matlin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson), rising seniors Lorelei Bell (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito Academy), Jayden Kratt (Palo Alto, Calif./Henry M. Gunn), Alana Nadolski (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood), Jess Palmer-Sammons (Half Moon Bay, Calif./Half Moon Bay) and Kendall Strauss (Round Rock, Texas/Round Rock), rising juniors Hannah Fasi (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani School) and Molly Lemmon (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township), and rising sophomores Anna Gaisser (Seattle, Wash./Ingraham), Mak Kratz (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North), Myles Kratz (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) and Ayla Reynolds (San Antonio, Texas/John M. Harlan).

Macalester, coached by Scott Reed, posted a 12-9 record in 2025 and won the third-place game at the CWPA Tournament for the third year in a row by defeating Austin College in overtime, 9-8.
