West Boca Continues Playoff Run
Defending 6A State Champions West Boca Bulls have continued to dominate in their
Regional Playoff win. With their 41-3 win against Mitchell, the Bulls will move on to the fourth
round of the playoffs. In the regular season, West Boca had eight wins and two losses. Those two
losses came earlier in the season against Cardinal Newman and Bergen Catholic. Although West
Boca collected eight other wins, not all of these wins were overpowering victories. For instance,
in the Bulls’ final game against Atlantic, the game ended with a score of 31-14. However, the
game itself was challenging for the Bulls, as Atlantic was the toughest team they had played all
season and the Eagles did not hold back.
Still, the Bulls conquered and so far in the postseason they have won tremendously, only
allowing seventeen points combined to be scored by all the three teams they have played.
Against Largo, the final score was 48-7. The Bulls went on to beat East Lake with a score of 48-
- As stated previously, West Boca also recently beat Mitchell 41-3.
The West Boca Bulls were the laughingstock of Palm Beach County high school football
for quite some time. The Bulls were constantly losing to cross-town rivals and were viewed as a
“cupcake win,” a team which is incredibly easy to defeat. Now, the Bulls are the team to beat in
not just Palm Beach County, but in the whole state of Florida.
This recent surge of success is mainly due to Head Coach Dylan Potts who was hired in - Potts brought the Bulls their first winning season since 2017. Along with amassing a
perfect 15-0 season and a State Championship in 2024, Potts was also recently honored by the
Palm Beach County Sports Commission at the Palm Beach County Sports Commission Hall of
Fame awards as the High School Coach of the Year this past May.
As the postseason continues on, the Bulls are set to play Armwood this upcoming Friday
at 7:30 p.m. on the road. With the immense contributions and laudable work of Potts, West Boca
is sure to put forth their best effort in this next round.
