White’s First Career XC Victory Leads ‘Cats to Second at Suffolk Short Course Classic
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore Ruth White (Orono, Maine) of the UNH women’s cross country team won Saturday’s 3K race for her first career XC victory, and the Wildcats finished in second place in the season-opening Suffolk Short Course Classic at the Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park. White clocked in at 10 minutes, 59.42 seconds to edge runner-up Siena Brunetti of Holy Cross (11:03.35).

Graduate student Claire Ronan (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) placed eighth in 11:13.89, sophomore Bailey Hall (Yardley, Pa.) took 12th place (11 points) in 11:17.26, and senior Lauren Boilard (San Francisco, Calif.) finished in 19th place (11:28.95).
