Indianapolis, Ind. – Youngstown State sophomore Lydia Wilkerson has been named All-Horizon League Second-Team after a vote of the league’s head coaches, the Horizon League announced on Tuesday.

A 2024 second-team all-league selection, Wilkerson led the Horizon League with 66 hits, ranked third with a .384 batting average, fourth with 85 total bases, eighth with a .427 on-base percentage, and tied for 10th with 28 RBIs.

In Horizon League competition, Wilkerson batted .390 with four doubles, a home run, and 12 runs batted in.

Wilkerson became just the sixth player in Youngstown State history record at least 65 hits with a .380 batting average in a season. This also marks the seventh time the feat has been accomplished. Miranda Castiglione achieved the milestone in 2014 and 2016.

In her two seasons at Youngstown State, Wilkerson owns a career batting average of .358 with 121 hits, 47 runs scored, 45 runs batted in, a .459 slugging percentage, and a .408 on-base percentage.

Her career batting average currently ranks fifth all-time in Youngstown State history.
