Winterplace Officially Kicks Off 42nd Season

Winterplace, the Southeast’s most affordable and accessible ski resort, will officially open for skiing and snowboarding on Saturday, December 14 from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. for the 2024/2025 Winter Season. The resort will open its slopes with 17 Trails including Rendezvous, Drop Off, Compromise, Over Easy, Ski-Wee, Easy Street, No Problem, Panorama, Glades, Last Chance, Last Run, Meadows, Snow Field, Wanderer, Cascade, Look at Me, Rendezvous Too and the Heaven Holler Terrain Park. West Virginia’s largest Snowtubing Park will open the following weekend on Saturday, December 21.

The Winterplace snowmaking efforts officially kicked off in late November and the team has been working nonstop as weather conditions permit to prepare for the upcoming season. “Our successful snowmaking campaign has allowed us to pump 41,500,000 gallons of water on 17 trails so far, which is enough to cover 5,000 football fields in snow,” said Josh Faber, general manager at Winterplace. “We are excited to open our slopes for the 42nd skiing and snowboarding season and invite families to get outdoors this winter to make some magical winter memories with us at Winterplace.”

Season Passes, Lift Tickets Available Online
Winterplace recommends purchasing lift tickets and rentals online in advance to save time and money. Tickets purchased at least 24 hours in advance qualify for the savings. To purchase 2024/25 tickets, visit, https://www.winterplace.com/lift-tickets.

Full Season passes are available to purchase online. Additionally, the resort is offering its “Wild Wonderful Pass” for $79, which provides $25 off every all-day or evening lift ticket purchases, all season long. To purchase a season, pass visit, https://www.winterplace.com/season-passes.

Ski With Santa
Monday, December 23 through Wednesday, December 25, 2024, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Santa will be making a special appearance at Winterplace to spread holiday cheer this Christmas season for three special days, Monday, December 23 through Wednesday, December 25. Families can have a chance to see Santa on the slopes, take a selfie, make some turns.

Families looking for a last-minute gift idea for the winter sports enthusiast on the list, can purchase a Winterplace Gift Card. Gift cards start at $25 and can be used throughout the resort for lift tickets, rentals, food court, and the ski shops. Gift cards cannot be used online.
