OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women’s flag football team defeated Midland University 38-7 on Sunday afternoon at AdventHealth Field. The win was OU’s 12 straight this season and 21^st straight dating back to the 2024 season.Ottawa’s defense forced a Midland punt and OU took over on its own 25 yard line. The Braves found the endzone for the third straight possession. Carrera finished the drive with a nine yard touchdown pass from Carrera to Spielberg and OU led 31-5.Midland moved the ball down the field on its first offensive possession of the game. On first and 20 from the OU 20 yard line, the OU defense came away with a take away. Susann Kaufmann tipped the MU quarterback pass at the Brave 29 yard line and caught the ball before it touched the ground. She returned the ball 51 yards for the touchdown and OU led 12-0 with three minutes left in the first quarter.On the Warriors’ second offensive possession of the game the Braves forced a second straight turnover. Midland had the ball on the OU 19 yard line. Jukanie Washington intercepted the pass in the end zone and the Ottawa offense took over on its own 14 yard line with 11 minutes to go in the half.The Braves scored on its second straight possession of the second half to extend its lead over Midland. On the third play of the drive, Carrera threw an 11 yard touchdown pass to Marley Spielberg. The extra point attempt was good and the Braves led 25-7 with 9:34 left in the contest.The Warriors cut into the Brave lead on its next offensive possession. Midland put together a seven play, 52 yard scoring drive that ended in a 16 yard touchdown pass from Angel Ioane Kaio to Allaya Livingston. The extra point attempt was good and Ottawa led 12-7 at the half.The Braves struck first, taking the early lead with a six play, 66 yard scoring drive. Madysen Carrera ended the drive with an eight yard touchdown pass to Jazlyn Camacho and OU led 6-0 with 9:10 to go in the first quarter.The Braves extended their lead over the Warriors on their first offensive possession of the second half. OU put together a six play, 39 yard drive that ended in a Carrera three yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was no good and OU led 18-7 at the 4:41 mark in the third quarter.Ottawa’s defense forced a turnover on downs on the Warriors’ second offensive possession of the third quarter. On fourth and two from the MU 38 yard line, Dejonice Parris pulled the flag of the MU quarterback one yard short of the first down and Ottawa had the ball on the MU 39 yard line with 1:12 remaining in the third quarter.Ottawa was forced to punt on its second offensive possession of the half and Midland took over on its own 28 yard line with 7:07 remaining in the second quarter.Inside the Box Score

OU forced a turnover on downs on Midland’s next offensive possession and the Braves took over on the MU 25 yard line. Carrera ended the drive with a four yard scramble into the end zone. The extra point was good and the Braves took the 38-7 victory.Midland started the second half with the ball. The OU defense recorded its third interception of the game. Teliyah McInnis stepped in front of the MU quarterback pass to earn her fifth interception of the season, and the Brave offense took over on the Midland 39 yard line with 8:31 left in the third quarter.

OU finished the game with 272 yards of offense, 235 yards passing and 37 yards rushing. Midland had 199 yards passing and 18 yards rushing for a total of 217 yards of offense.
Madysen Carrera was 23-for-30 through the air for 235 yards and three touchdowns. She also rushed for 20 yards and two touchdowns.
Tatiana Dos Santos led OU with seven receptions for 91 yards.
Marley Spielberg had six receptions for 43 yards and two touchdown receptions.
Jazlyn Camacho had four receptions for 62 yards and one receiving touchdown.
Leilani Caamal and Susann Kaufmann led OU with eight flag pulls apiece. Kaufmann had one interception returned for a touchdown and Caamal had one pass break up.
Jukanie Washington and Teliyah McInnis each had an interception.
