Grasonville, MD – On Saturday and Sunday, the La Salle women’s golf team played 54 holes in the JEL Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay Country Club.
 

The team finished in eighth place of nine teams, but improved their scoring with each round of the tournament. In the final round, the team shot +65, highlighted by juniors Sydnie Leavery and Nina Okenkova, who each shot a +14, 86.
 
Okenkova topped the individual list for the Explorers, placing 32nd with a +41 overall. Senior Paige Cerminaro placed 36th, shooting a +50 overall. As one of the most consistent players in the entire field, Cerminaro came in with a +16, +17, and +17 in her three rounds.
 
Leavery finished 41st with a +55 overall and the Explorers’ efforts were rounded out by freshman Samantha Song, who shot +71 and finished 47th.
 

Next weekend, the team will travel to Warren, OH to compete in the Youngstown State Invitational, spanning two days from April 6-7.
