SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The two-time defending NSIC Champion Augustana women’s swimming & diving team will look to three-peat beginning Wednesday at the Hulbert Aquatic Center in West Fargo, North Dakota. The event runs four-consecutive days with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. each day and finals at 5:30 p.m. Diving will take place Thursday and Saturday with prelims at 1 p.m. and the finals taking place in the championship portion of the evening.

Of the 15 individual swimming events, Augustana owns 16 top-five times among the NSIC. That includes five events with the No. 1 time heading into the championship meet with two of those held by Bryn Greenwaldt.
The two-time reigning NSIC Swimmer of the Year owns the top time in the 50 free (22.11) and 100 free (50.51). Her 50 free time is the second fastest in the country this season while her 100 free time slots in at 11th. Across the NSIC, she also owns the second-fastest time in the 100 backstroke in a time of 54.38. In the 50 free, she is joined in the top-five by Makoa Montgomery, whose 23.77 ranks fourth. Nesrine Jelliti also sees her name rank No. 1 across multiple events. The senior has been dominant in the 100 and 200 breast this season. In the Rochester Invitational Dec. 6-7, Jelliti was dominant, breaking the school records in both the 100 (1:02.26) and the 200 (2:20.41) breast. Both of those times lead the pack among the NSIC this season. In all, Augustana returns 14 All-NSIC individual performances for last season, plus relays where the Vikings are the defending champs in the 200 free, 400 and 800 free relays as well as the 400 medley relay.

Makoa’s sister, Meesha Montgomery, ranks fifth in the 100 free with a time of 51.70. Meesha Montgomery touts the top 100 IM time in the field, coming in with a 58.15. Avery Lommel and Kate Robbins have two of the top three point totals in the 1m dive. Lommel holds the top spot with 456.45 points while Kate Robbins is third with 415.90 points, both scores coming in the SMSU quad.
