NIL
WRs, 2026 crootin’, hoops injuries, NIL loopholes
Jarret Johnson answers questions about Texas Tech sports and recruiting from Inside the Red Raiders subscribers. Please watch the video below for the content.
NazRaider: Wide receiver group – overrated, underperforming, is it coaching, overvalued talent, or playing the wrong personnel? Follow up to MJY statement that it is one of worst in conference.
Masstech: Have you heard of Tech and Blanchard making headway with any 2026 recruits that are committed to football programs with coaching changes?
Techfreak: How banged up is the basketball team? Who is injured?
RaiderPower7796: NIL has changed the college football landscape, which raises a question about system universities: could flagship programs (e.g., UT or A&M) use other schools in their system as a de-facto farm system? For example, a smaller program such as SFA might offer an attractive NIL package to a three-star recruit, allow him to develop for a year or two, and then the recruit would “enter the transfer portal” and move to the flagship with a larger NIL deal. Is this scenario feasible in practice, or are there established rules or enforcement mechanisms that would prohibit or penalize such coordination?
